Alisha's passion for gender equality took her to Sri Lanka, where she worked with the Law and Society Trust, diligently researching and advocating for the removal of discriminatory aspects from the country's constitution while championing equal opportunities. 

Continuing her commitment to advancing justice on an international scale, Alisha joined the esteemed International Center for Transitional Justice in Manhattan, New York. As a valuable member of the Gender Justice Department, she played a pivotal role in developing 
gender-sensitive prosecution trainings for UN Women, leaving an indelible mark on the pursuit of gender justice. 

Alisha's relentless pursuit of knowledge led her to the University of London SOAS, where she specialized in human rights law, further honing her expertise and gaining invaluable insights into the intricate dynamics of human rights violations and their redress. 

Throughout her academic journey, Alisha garnered numerous accolades and awards, including the Richard Bilder International Law Scholar Award, the Gracie Public Service Fellowship Award, the Women, Well-Being, Wisconsin and the World (4W) Scholar distinction, and the Association for Women Lawyers Scholar Award.
